As Darchem Thermal Fabrications’ product portfolio grew it was clear that there were many other applications which would benefit from our Thermal Management Solutions. Engine technology has evolved greatly, especially given the focus on the reduction of harmful emissions as we move towards carbon neutrality. This brought about the introduction of systems such as Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs), Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC) to assist in controlling the emissions from diesel engines.
The addition of these systems means that engine bays become more congested. This brings heat-generating components closer to heat-sensitive components which means increased thermal protection is required. The need to retain heat in DPFs to assist with the regeneration process also favours additional insulation, so Darchem has developed a number of solutions which supports numerous diesel-powered applications, predominantly in the Off-Highway sector. Wheeled Loader vehicles are regularly working in flammable environments so thermal management is even more critical in these situations.
